Using the momentum from her tail-punching, the lizard managed to shift from the underside of the branch, to the top. Snorting out a few fustrated breaths, Damaris arose slowly. This was not from fatigue, however... the lizard was just testing the limb to see if it was sturdy enough to hold her weight. Reaching out for a guantlet on her other arm, she tightened the bindings on it. As she did so, the spikes on her arms were forced out a bit more, making them slightly more deadly. She adjusted her other gauntlet. A faint mark of blood was stained at the base of each of the spikes.
Damaris breathed in deeply ; a peevish pain was emitting from each of her spikes. As a hunter, she was quite used to this procedure. The cat, she saw, was a branch or two below her. Oh how Damaris wanted to gorge herself on this tiny morsel... Sure, there would be a lot of fur and little flesh... but he was the only other edible creature around, other than Omigi. A loud growl came from the pit of Damaris' still-empty stomach... and from the back of the raptor's throat.
Not waiting any longer, she lept down, with her tail held onto the branch from which she lept from as an anchor. She criss-crossed both her arms in front of her, like a spiked sheild, so that if she was going to strike the cat-sprite... the spikes would drive into some part of his body so that he wouldn't be able to get away...

Jyp tried dodging Damaris, but a few of the spikes got tangled up into his cloak. He spun around as much as he could, punching at Damaris's face with his spike knuckles. He then slipped out of his cloak, falling to the ground. He stood up, drawing his sword again, and looking in the trees for Damaris.

A light gush of blood fell through the air as the cat sprite whipped out of sight. It landed with a soft 'plt plt' sound as the droplets dripped onto the cloak, which still hung onto Damaris' inches-long spikes. Three identical punctures could be seen from the lizard-lady's bloodstained cheek and chin ; shallow, but nonetheless prickling with pain were these wounds. Fortunately, the cat hadn't focused all his strength in a single punch, otherwise the blemish to the reptile's cheek would leave an unpleasant scar.
Not wanting to reveal her presence in the trees, Damaris slowly let the cloak dip down and hang from the branch below her hanging self. As soundlessly as the cloak had fallen, she too, slid down onto the limb, slowly uncoiling her tail to produce a gentle landing.
Instead of lying on her feet, the reptile lay on her side, partly to rest, partly to no apparent reason. A trickle of crimson liquid gathered at her closed lips(if you can call them that), and as she parted them, a familiar taste ran down to the tip of her tongue. Even if the blood was her own, it still brought about some distinct memories of her hunting days in the past : the slash of claws, the spurt of blood, the ravenous feast upon the still-warm flesh of some dying beast... yum.
But at last, the growl of a hungry something tickled the lizard's stomach. Oh, right... the cat...
With a burst of random strength, Damaris flung her legs from one side of the branch the another, where she had seen the cat go last. She flew, feet first, through a clear passage through the branches, and came down with a silent boom onto the ground. Luck again, had allowed Damaris to fall far enough away from the cat-sprite and his unsheathed sword. No matter. Damaris straightened, stretching, and then lowered her head and shifted herself into her half-jump position, fangs, claws, and spikes at the ready. She growled for the cat to make his move.

Jyp whirled around, hearing the growl, and spotted Damaris. He watched her carefully, his sword held almost casually at his side. He feinted to the right towards her, then brought the sword up on the right side as he leapt towards Damaris. He twirled away from her, not waiting to see if he caused any damage, then slashed at her once more. He backed off a few paces, waiting for her reaction.

Damaris snorted at the cat's slow reaction towards her landing. Having lived in a jungle in the first bits of her life, if a creature wasn't quick, it would fall hands to those that were. The lizard-lady kept her watchful eyes upon the sprite's entire body, if any sign of an attack could be seen at an early state, Damaris would have more time to react.
Tense, Damaris half lunged towards the cat when he made his false move to the right. The reptile was recoiling into her half-jump, half-stand stance when the sprite made his real move. Although Damaris wasn't physically prepared for a full jump, she made the best attempt she could to do a midair front flip in the air above the cat's sword.
The sword's 'singing' was heard, barely a few inches away from Damaris' tucked in head. A bit of the ends of the longer of hairs on her head were immediately severed.
Without furthur ado, Damaris landed gently on the ground a little bit off from the spot where she had been standing moments ago. She whipped her head back and found that the little kitty had his head turned back, so, taking advantage of this, Damaris flung her tail in a half circle towards the cat spirte while still in a crouching position. She hoped to catch his paws and trip him, while he was still within the range of her tail.

Jyp turned around quickly, then fell down as Damaris tripped him. His sword was jarred loose and skidded a few feet away while he fell. He turned over onto his stomach and reached for the sword, while his other paw quickly drew a dirk from somewhere in his sleeve. He stood up and started to grab the sword while trying to keep an eye on Damaris.

[glow=darkred,2,1100] Someone walked along the path, stopping at the crackling fire . It was a boy around 14 named Robert, with an oversized red cloak around him. A book was cradled in his arms, and his brown eyes were looking around. As he stopped at the fire, he sat next to it, lowering the hood of the cloak, letting out messy red hair. I wonder who started this fire... Under his cloak was a red tunic and dark leggings. A small dagger was sheathed on his hip, it was rarely used. He was much more efficient in the art of magic than fighting melee. To be more precise, he was efficient in fire magic. He had been an apprentice, and still is. Finding ennui in his regular teachings, his teacher sent him into the forest to survive for 4 days by himself, equipped only with his tome and a haversack with only the bare essiantals. He was young and eager, his eagerness sometimes leading him to do foolish things. [/glow]

((Same here Kilisa... but add a few more tonnes of homework on ze block of ze writer's. xP
Shiny font, Bandit.))
As the duo of scarsely human creatures battled on in the cover of forest a little ways off of the camp, Omigi watched from the base of the tree, as a human came by. She watched him carefully, and by the looks of it, he didn't appear, or dress like the average passerby... that her lizard friend would occasionally prey upon if food was scarce. This boy didn't seem to be equipted with much either, so Omigi approached him. She kept her head low, as if she was just another snappish horse, so that if a chance came, she would neigh a warning to Damaris of the comming of this person. Omigi stopped roughly a meter away.
Meanwhile, Damaris was growing agitated with the cat-sprite that simply refused to die. With the neverending supply of surprise weapons the cat posessed, the lizard was slowly running out of her own tricks to counter and attack with. If Damaris didn't kill him in the next few tries, then she would probably let him off and go for easier prey that was worth the effort. Little Kitty didn't have too much meat on him, for fur than flesh.
As quickly as the sword fell from the cat's hands, Damaris whipped around, stood, and lept. She wanted to get the cat while he was still unarmed, only to realize that he was in midair. The only armor Damaris posessed were the gauntlets on her arms and legs, the belts around her body, and the scales on her skin. So, she decided to herself, " Heck with it, I crush him instead ! "
Crossing her arms together to protect her chest and stomach, the reptile attempted a firm landing to the cat's chest or back... with her sickle clawed legs.

Jyp landed on the ground as Damaris thudded into his back. He kept a firm hold on his dirk, but lay still, panting heavily with narrowed eyes. "Why are you trying to kill me?" he asked quietly and raggedly. He reached up with the paw that held the dirk and tried slashing at Damaris's face.
