Jyp shrugged, drawing his sword again and sticking it point down in the dirt. He stepped away from it, saying, "There's me weapon. If'n we all promise not to hurt eachother, then hunting's fine with me. Ok?" He slumped down against a tree moodily and preoccupied.

"Who in the world said I was a bug-eater , huh ?! I don't eat any creepy-crawlies, other than the honey pot ants... I tell you, they're nature's perfect sweets... nice and chewy outer when dipped in tree gummy... Ahh...."
Luckily, the memories of honey-pot ants had drawn Damaris deep enough into it's sweetness for her to forget the other names little Jyp had called her. The lizard seemed to be popping imaginary ants into her mouth, drooling and twiddling her fingers together in delight. Omigi nibbled on Damaris' shirt, and then retreated to the fire, where she lay down, staring deep into the flames. The night had grown cooler now, and it was evident that the hunters and feeders of the night had begun to come out.
"Are ya with us, Robbie-boy ?"
The lizard had regained full conciousness of the campsite around her, and was now starring Robert in the eyes. She needed to know if she could trust him, and doubt seemed to have filled his eyes. She waited a while, and if there was an answer, she would've given a small nod of the head and turned straight back to Jyp, hands rested on her hipbones.
"Oh, okay, I won't hurt you... don't worry... is your back okay though ? I've got some herbs in my pack to heal them if you want.... also, what prey do you perfer... ? Deer ? Rabbit ? Fish ? ... or something wilder... like wolf... ?"

"Well...if there's no violence between us, then I'm in." Even though there were still traces of doubt, he was more trusting now. Eating ants? He thought with disgust. "Fish is fine." he told Damaris, preferring it to insects.

((Sorry about being gone so long. My sister's home from college, so now she's hogging the net, instead of me! )) Jyp shrugged. "My backs fine. And fish sounds good, unless there isn't any 'round here." He looked around, yawning widely. "Anyways, if not, then rabbit. If you have any. I can always get my own." His tail swished slightly as he looked around again, gnawing his bottom lip worriedly.

(( 'Tis okay. XD ))
"Fish and small fry it is, then."
Damaris made 'a headdin to where her pack lay, picked it up, and slung it lazily over her back. She jerked the handle a couple of times, hearing the whispers of the items held inside the belly of the pack. Apparently, everything that was needed was there, and the lizard then went to Omigi. Mounting, Damaris turned to the two and waved an arm to them, signalling for them to follow. But before anyone else could blink an eye, Omigi pranced over to the fire and stamped it out.
"We don't want anyone to find us by light, but we've gotta find our way back to the camp by scent later anyway. If any of you can hear or smell water better than I can, then lead the way."
With that, Omigi trotted off to the slim clearing between some thickets, and began sniffing the ground and air with her reptillian compainion for signs of a river.

Rob watched as the horse snuffed the flame and their surroundings looked much more frightening. The trees looked wicked, and Rob quickly walked behind Jyp. In the quietest voice he could manage, he whispered to him, "You think we can actually trust this one?"

Jyp grabbed his sword as he walked by it. He blinked a couple of times as the fire went out, getting used to the dark. "I dunno. But if she's feeding us, then I'll follow her all she wants, 'cause I'm HUNGRY!" He hurried to catch up with Damaris. "I don't think I could smell water better than you, y'know, but I think I hear some."

As the Omigi continued on her steady stroll, Damaris could've sworn she heard the softest of whispers behind her. But, as quickly as she had noticed it, she dismissed the sounds for those of a nearby animal's, or the sigh of the grasses around her.
"Hurry up or you'll get left behind in the dark."
Damaris flicked her head towards Jyp as he came alongside Omigi, and the reptile patted the mare's side, signaling for her to stop, as there was no reins to pull and the little cat's legs seemed to be struggling to match Omigi's long, slender one's. Lowering her head in union with Omigi's, Damaris listened quietly to Jyp, and when he finished, the lizard gave a soft trill.
"Lead the way then, kitty. I can't smell anything here except for leaves, and more leaves."
Damaris rose back up, lowered her arm, and flicked out her palm. She curled her fingers in a non-verbal question : "Wanna ride on Omigi, or shall you walk ?"

Jyp shrugged. He'd walk. The cat-sprite's form started heading off into the trees, after he glanced at the others to make sure they were following. He stopped a moment, his ear flickering, then turned right and headed that way.

Rob quickly ran in front of Omigi, not wanting to be caught in the back of the group. He looked around, wondering what was going to happen next. What's this Damaris person really up to? Well if she's up to something fishy, I can just blast her with a fire ball! He told himself which a quiet chuckle.

Jyp's ear flicked again. He could hear the quiet rushing of a stream easier now, and he started going a bit faster. Like Rob, he was wondering if it was safe to trust the lizard. And also if it was safe to trust Rob, too...He didn't trust many people, he had been betrayed too many times, but the ones he did trust, he'd stick with them for a long time.

(( Exactly 86 refreshes to login... wow... )) Damaris kept a short distance behind the two she was travelling with. She was still busily sniffing here and there for other night predators in the forest, and patting Omigi every once in a while to avoid trotting on Robert. Although the reptile couldn't catch the scent of water, she could always get even the slightest wift of a hunter. This hardly made any sense, seeing as one's sense of smell should be at the same efficiancy for one object as another, but hey, this wasn't supposed to. Damaris shifted her sharp blue eyes upon Robert as he took his soft laughs. What the heck was he up to now ? Hmph. He probably still didn't trust Damaris ; stupid little humans. Taking her mind off of him for the time being, she perked her nonexistant earflaps and listened. At last, the lizard could hear the faint gurgling of the stream just up ahead somewhere. Seeing Jyp speed up, Damaris nudged Omigi's flanks with her scaled knees and urged her to go faster, careful enough to go beside Robert in case he chose to stay slow.

Jyp glanced behind him at the others, then continued on for a while longer. "Just a bit further, methinks." he said, hearing it better than before. His tail twitched nervously.
