Bodir and his men had their weapons out, and were doing their best to fight off the accursed birds. Bodir had been about to say something unpleasant to the catlike creature before him, but was now a bit occupied with problems of his own.
The archers shot their arrows here and there, hoping to perhaps hit one of the winged scourges and stop them from pecking their eyes and exposed skin.
The dagger had hit it's mark, though barely so. The rope was cut, but not through entirely. It was, however, just enough that the young woman was able to break what little bond was left of the rope and free her arms. She headed straight for the thickest clump of trees she could find.

Jyp drew his sword and backed off, swinging with the flat of his sword at any birds. He backed up against a tree, looking round and trying to beat off birds. He glanced at the woman who had just gotten loose, then decided to follow her, sheathing his sword and running after her.

Quickly she ran towards the trees, knowing that the woman hiding there would not be safe there for long. Her lips formed a small smile to the young woman to let her know that it is she who had helped. As for the man who had also followed she would have to take both of them. With her hands she motioned for them to follow her and she was off. Feet touched the earth softly as she walked knowingly on an invisible path. She knew just about everything about the forest and cherished it deeply because it will always be her home.
The woman had them go upstream through a small river, until eventually they entered a small underground cave. It was muddy and wet, but got them to their destination, because once they were out on the other side. There was a beautiful tree house atop a humongous tree. 'Come on in.' the woman climbed the tree with the aid of the many branches. Inside there were a few wooden chairs and table, a pallet, and cabinets for the silver ware she had. She stuck her head out the window and called for a bird, which appeared in a few moments. Silently she asked for new of the men who they had attacked and told the bird to keep an eye on them.

Jyp watched the women leave, but he stayed put, with no intention of following them. He started climbing a tree, then sat on a branch, looking down at the confusion, occasionaly beating off any birds attacking him. The cat-sprite yawned, he was a bit tired.

((Sorry, guys. It's the Christmas season, so I've been working a lot. I'll try to check this more often.))
The young woman didn't really know what to think of the strange catlike creature that had followed her into the trees, but she knew that the other stranger was helping her, and that she was deeply in debt to her for that very reason.
Then again, perhaps she had a different reason for attacking those men....
The woman's assuring smile did the trick, convincing her that the bird attack had been meant to distract the group of men and help her to escape. When she took off, she followed her as fast as her legs could carry her. She nearly got lost a few times, but eventually she was able to find the woman she was following.
She followed her into the cave, though a bit hesitantly as she really didn't like tight, dark spaces. She looked up at the house in the tree the woman had entered and decided that she would just stay and sit at the trunk of it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bodir was furious. The birds had gone now, but probably only because the strange woman who had called them was also gone, along with the young woman he had been entrusted to return to his master. Evidence of the encounter remained on his exposed flesh, as well as that of the other men. Little specks of crimson where the birds had pecked and clawed at them.
He bellowed at men who really could do nothing about the present situation except bandage wounds. It helped him to release a bit of his anger, though it would not be satisfied until his task was complete, and the promised price for success jingling in his hand.
He pursed his lips tightly, his face turning red in his anger. "Once those wounds are taken care of, we're leaving!" he bellowed at one of the men. "She's never gotten away before, and I don't want to let her have a chance to enjoy such freedom."
He then stalked off into the clump of trees the young woman had disappeared into, hoping to find some sort of clue as to where she had gone.
(It's ok; I just didn't want the board to go dead, thank you both for posting!!))
The woman climbed down the tree has she held a small bag in one hand and a plate of bread and cheese in the other. She placed the plate in front of the woman who she had just escaped. Eyes scanned her to make a quick judgment of what she was going to do. Silently she also sat down and took a small piece of bread from the plate and slowly ate it. Once she was done she parted her mouth to speak.
'Why were they chasing you?'
It was a simple question and the answer would provide some information for her. Since she had already made it clear that she was trying to help her she hoped the woman before her wouldn't lie. Because it would be a shameful thing to do to one who just saved your life, not to mention that her life might be in danger also.
((No problem, and thanks for letting me know that you will be gone.))
Indeed it would've been rude to lie to the woman who had just saved her life, or even to just not tell her anything at all. The young, ebony haired woman let out a great sigh before speaking, and decided to start with her name.
"I am called Fen," she began, "and those men were chasing me because a sorcerer - also my mentor and teacher - sent them after me." She paused, trying to put the words together correctly in her head before allowing her lips to form them. "His motives are unjust, I fear, and I didn't want to get caught up in the lot of it. He doesn't want me to get out into the world, and though I'm not sure of it, I believe it might be because I know much more than he wants others to be told."
Jyp waited until he was sure the birds were gone, then he jumped down and started following Bodir quickly and as quietly as possible. He didn't really mind being seen, so long as people left him alone. He caught up to Bodir, but stayed a few yards behind him, stalking the man, it seemed.
