Faerth snorted "When I get home I'm never going to need fur." he said "I can't stand vegetables, you get used to eating a certain way for fifteen centuries and it's hard to change, and squirrels don't even taste ~good~" he looked at her and sighed "Normally I'd have a sheep or two, or a deer but only one of those... and if the elves or humans in the area waned its pelt I'd be obliged to let them have it, but if they didn't it's just easier to eat the thing whole. dragons don't have a need for coverings, really, and I don't even in this pathetic excuse for a form, apparently my magic keeps me warm even when I can't use it." he said sadly

"Well, animals eat animals, 'tis only natural. I'm no vegetarian myself, though apples are very good..." She looked around. "So, where ya headed?"

((Aight.))
"Me?" Pax asked. "Anywhere and everywhere where I can..." her voice trailed off, as if she almost said something bad. "I'll come with you. I'm sure they'd let you in."

"I wish had your optimism." he said wryly "They believe me dead and gone and that way for the past eighteen years or more." He sighed "and the only two who could completely verify my identity are the two least likely to come to the borders, or to be allowed to come to the borders."

Pax shrugged. "So? If they don't let you in, I can help out." She glanced around the forest again. "Seriously, I can." She leaned against a tree. "What happened to you, with the bracelets and not being a dragon anymore?"

Faerth gave a small snort of laughter. "You wouldn't want to get caught if you tried going past the boarder in a roundabout way." he said "But you're welcome to trave alongside me if you wish..." it'd be nice to have a freind again his mind added very softly to himself. He'd all but given up on finding companionship in these realms yet here someone was, offering just that.

Pax raised an eyebrow and muttered something under her breath. She could help out, just maybe not in ways he expected. "Anyways, when we leaving?"

"Whenever we resume walking." Faerth said with a smile and set off to the north down the path again.

Pax smiled back, then ran to catch up with him. She was quite short, actually, barely coming up to mid-torso on an average human. Her paws brought out the flute, and she started playing with it distractedly.

Faerth looked at Pax as she played, enjoying the music, even as half of his attention was focused intently on the sounds of the forest. He might be paranoid, but he had reason to be. He was fairly defenseless in this form without een his magic to call upon, and people in the last town he'd been in were all too ready to take advantage of that fact.

Pax played a soft tune, yet it was quick and light. Her tail swished slowly as she walked and played the flute. Thunderstorm came out of the woods and bounded up to them, purring.

Faerth gave another distracted smie at the leopard. He was thinking about the question Pax had asked, perhaps one day he'd tell her the answer. But not yet. His eyes darkened to thier most common shade, black, as he remembered the events of the past eighteen years. Not much was left to him to keep his mood in good spirits.

Thunderstorm rubbed against Pax, then walked over to Faerth. She rubbed against his hand, then suddeny froze. So did Pax, and they both seemed to be listening.
