Raina walked the streets of the busy town with the hood of her dark green cloak drawn up to hide her face from the world; Well more like a muzzle really. She was a Litorian, meaning she was a humanoid lion creature. She stood at about 6'9 well muscled yet moved with the grace that cats were so known for. Glaring from beneath the coat was a pair piercing gold eyes and large jaws containing several large teeth. Her life had not been an easy one which left her with much hatred and mistrust for the humans that seem to plague the poor land. She could barely contain her disgust as she walked the streets. It was the humans that killed her tribe and took her captive. It was the humans that enslaved her and scared her back with the lashings of countless whips. When she finally escaped it was a human who slit her throat and left her for dead, tossed into the sea to be eaten by the sharks. Now she walks the land hoping to find some evidence into the disappearance of her people.

A smirk found it's way upon her small maw as she played her dagger back within her sheath. Though she made no movement to come from the darkness because the shadows were she home. Eyes could see clearly within the darkness as she made out the dog like creatures form. Immediately she saw his foolishness entering the dark with an unknown opponent especially one who could see.
" You are aroused by the killing of your opponent but forget about the one who you are trying to save. I killed him only because he sought to hurt a close relative of my kind..."
Slowly she approached from out of the darkness to reveal her obsidian coat. Everyone could see that she was a close relative to the cat family and sought to protect those like her as well as her alley. As for the creature they were trying to save she waited for him to take care of it seeking no further to intervene in his mission.

Ankh bared his teeth and brandished the khopesh, holding them as a shield between them. He slowly backed away, keeping his amber eyes locked on her own, watching for any signs that she would attack. "What business do you have here?" he asked finally, having pointed one of the khopesh at the remaining thug, watching him out of the corner of his eye. "And you leave him alone. Drop all your weapons and hold still."

Golden optics watched Ankh and was not scared by his fangs. Instead she held her arms up and slowly moved them down. A gesture she used to symbolize peace she did not seek to hurt the dog-like creature. Once her arms reached her side she listened to his words. Planning at once to answer truthfully since she didn’t sense that Ankh was against them.
“Well, I live here and just for the record I take a large disliking to those who interrupt my nap.”
She answered simply as she continued to wait for another question. In truth this alley was her temporary home because she did a lot of traveling and never stayed in the same place. Through her travels she searched for those like her as she spread the news of a danger approaching against their kind and warned others to be careful, for it was only a matter of time.

Ahead of her Raina saw a small group of humans gathered near an alley, hundled together and speaking in hushed tones. At first she was just going to ignore it, the affairs of humans were of no concern for her, but then she caught the scent of something...different. Something definately not human, in fact she smelled several scents that were not human. A couple of them even resembled that of her own people, but still different. Sighing to herself she made her way over to the crowd, easily seeing over them down the alley and indeed there was quite a mixture of strange beings. She leaned down and whispered to one human that she heard those creatures were wild and unpredictable and that it would be best to leave before they decided to come after them. This spread quickly through the crowd and in a matter of moments the crowd scattered. Raina stood...or rather leaned against the entrance to the alley waiting to see how this fight turned out.

Slane paid no heed to Ankh, instead, he pursued after Jyp, who was madly scrambling away from him. "I didn't do it!" the small cat-sprite yelped. Slane swung at him, but missed, fortunately. Jyp snarled, sheathing his sword. "Look, stoppit, now, or I'll roast you, got it?"

Ankh dove after the thug, dropping his khopesh in the process, but he managed to grab his ankles. He grunted as the air was knocked out of him and grimaced as the grimy alley dirtyed his white linen robe. "I... Oof... Had no intention... Hold still! Of disturbing your nap. I saw trouble and I have tried to halt it. Would you just hold still you silly clunch!?! Listen to the cat-creature, because it is not wise to mess with our type!"

((Mmkay..so here's a slap-around charrie. Artio is still present, but more in the back of my head until the ruckus dies down.)) Darts. Little needling capsules filled to the brim with tranquilizer, or often poison. Blown with a hollow rod, slender enough to sneak past unsuspicious persons and sturdy. They were not really his type of weapon, but there was no time to be picky. Talal brushed roughly shorn dark hair out of darker eyes, and the same hand scraped across the stubble on his jaw. He squinted into the shadows below from several planks of old musty wood, laid out across two rooftops like a makeshift bridge. The dog was down, the felines, suitably distracted. One, two, three, four. He counted quickly of what creatures were visible, and took careful aim. ((*scratches head thoughtfully* Hmmm... You decide whether he can't see one of you, or if I mis-counted. ))

The feline shook her head in amusement as she saw the dog-like creature dive between the human legs. Ears perked to listen to what he had to say through a few breaks. She intended to continue watching the fight, but an unusual smell was caught within her nostrils. Surprisingly it was coming from above them. Eyes narrowed in suspicion as she backed into the darkness becoming invisible. She had to warn the others, but how? There was someone near she could even smell the man-made metal machine. She took out her dagger as she positioned herself in the corner and threw it towards Raina. Except it hit the wall beside her and at the level way above her head. She could only hope the Raina would look up…

Raina ducked away from the wall out of instint more then the fact that the dagger could have hit her. A deep chested growl eminated from her throat as she looked at the offending dagger sticking out from the wall. With her head tilted in such a way she was able to catch the faint scent of a human on the roof; he smelled nervous, a hint of danger lingered amonst his scent as well. Shrugging she figured now was as good a time as any to reveal herself, throwing her cloak open in a dramatic movement she threw back her head and roared. The thugs who were not preoccupied turned to look in her direction their eyes showing both confusion and fear. She crouches slightly her powerful leg muscles contracting for a brief moment before she lanches herself up and onto the roof tops, searching for the threat from above.

Slane tripped and fell, then disentagled himself and stood up, facing the trembling cat-sprite, Jyp, who was looking fearfully at him. "Fine, I'll go now." he growled, nrushing hair out of his eyes. "But you better watch it, half-breed." Slane growled. He turned away and stumped away, but turned back as if forgetting something. His hand whipped out something, and he threw it, then laughed wickedly and left the alley. Jyp took a small knife out of the wall by his head and stared at it, trembling a bit. The knife was slim, and a black ribbon was tied around the hilt. "I'm dead." he said quietly. Jyp hadn't heard or noticed anything about the new threat, he had been occupied.
((Yeah, Slane'll probably be back, sometime...And if you want, Quirk, you can go ahead and shoot Jyp or something like that. Just s'long as he don't die. ^^))

Ankh threw himself back, hands scrabbling madly for his khopesh as a loud roar rang out. He earned himself a thin gash on the heel of one hand, but managed to grab both weapons. Great... he thought as the humans scattered in fear, screaming about monsters and demons. Knowing my luck, they'll bring the guardsmen upon us. I had better get them out of here before we attract more attention. For all I know, the Killer is allied with this town's lord. He stood up, brushing off his robe and hissed, "We must leave before more discover us! This is not a wise thing to do in broad daylight!"

The hunter started at the clang of the embedded knife, and the wood beneath him creaked.
He very nearly gaped as the lioness launched up from the ground, her bellow ringing in his ears. Three slender darts shot smoothly in the feline's direction with a gentle blow from Talal's lips. He was a pinpoint marksman, and deemed three to be unusual overkill.
The black beast would be the next to go. Ankh made a fair target, splayed on the ground. Talal tossed down a heavily weighted net from his perch as he blew once more into the pipe. He did not see where the net fell and covered, as its purpose was nothing short of a slowing distraction. If it snared one of the monstrosities he would praise Lady Luck.
Five more of the potent missiles flew with a piercing whistle as they slid down the metal's hollow shaft. The dog was standing.

Raina's instincts cause her to whip her cloak out in front of her in an effort to deflect darts before they could hit her. Despite her skills one did find its target, quickly she removes the dart hoping to stop its full effects. She snarls one more time before she jumps down the join the others, her landing a little rough as the drug starts to take effect. Shaking her head to clear it she looks to Ankh, "If you know of a place where we will be safe, please so lead the way. i'm not sure how long I can fight the effects of the dart."

"How could I know where we will be safe? I'm from Egypt. What about-" Suddenly, a heavy net fell over his head and shoulders, cutting him off. As growled and threw it off, a dart sank its needle tip into his throat. He howled in combined surprise and pain and yanked it out, but not before it released its contents. Almost immidiately, the world began reeling before him. He blinked and staggered, coming to rest against the wall. Dark spots danced before his eyes, clouding his vision. Shaking his head only made him dizzier as Ankh slowly slid to the ground, the muscles in his powerful legs ignoring his command to remain straight. His knees struck the stinking ground and he fell down, face forward, into the dirt. Mercifully, he was unconscious before he could have had a chance to smell it.
