Harue sighed but followed him, not minding the rain. She liked it when it rained. It was an omen. Something better was going to come after the rain was over. "Derek?" She murmured as they were swallowed into the shadows of the alley. "Do you actually enjoy killing people? It doesn't seem like a lot of fun." Her eyes were truly concerned. There were people who feared for their lives in the gangs, so they killed. There were people who wanted revenge or just a new trophy, so they killed. But...killing for a living or just for fun... It seemed crazy.

Derek considered the question. "I don't really enjoy it. I try to do it only when it's necessary, although it bothers me a lot less than it used to." His eyes were thoughtful. "I suppose that after a certain number of attempts on your life you kind of become less sensitive about that sort of thing." He shrugged. "It's all for the best, I suppose. Had it been up to you to take down those Owls back there we would be dead right now."

Harue folded her arms across her chest. "...Maybe." She murmured. She supposed she couldn't rely on fox weapons anymore. ...They kinda sucked.

(Hahaha. They kinda sucked. Way to be blunt.)
Derek had stopped. He surveyed the alley into which they had walked, and made a bemused little sound. "I recognize this place," he said more to himself than Harue, and picked his way across the garbage-strewn alley floor. He stopped in front of a rather unassuming door, that apparently lacked a doorknob. A small smile touched his lips, and he looked up at a ledge maybe three feet above the door. He jumped up and grabbed it, shimmying along until something clicked. He landed on the ground just as the door swung inwards. Derek immediately stepped inside, vanishing into the darkness. There was a slight crash, then Derek swore, then a few moments later a dim light bulb hanging from the ceiling of a room no larger than a fairly large janitor's closet. On the far end was a table the width of the room, with a pair of chairs, one overturned lying directly between Derek and the door. He gave it a look of pure loathing as he rubbed his shin. What really caught the eye were the walls on either side, which were almost totally covered with every imaginable type of hand gun. Revolvers, semi-automatics and even several fully automatic sidearms hung here and there. Derek, who had recovered, was eyeing each one with interest. He scanned through the rows of weapons, muttering to himself. "Where's my baby?" His eyes lit up as he spotted a huge revolver, adorned with a laser sight. He grinned and walked over to the desk, pulling out the drawers one by one. They were full to the point of overflowing with various types of ammunition. He pulled out several clips and popped them into the drum, snapping it shut with a competent flick of the wrist. "Not quite my cup of tea," he said mildly. "But what I lack in finesse with these things I make up for with firepower." He stored the gun carefully in the folds of his cloak, and dropped a few more clips into his cloak pockets. "You know how to use any of these things?" he asked, gesturing vaguely at the walls. "Take anything that catches your eye." With that he sat down on a chair and began humming to himself.
(Just offering you some alternative weapons. Plus I think it's kind of a cool little place. Plus I'm getting a bit bored with his knives. I haven't really thought of a story for it being there though. Oh well, I have a dozen half-formed ideas already. Righto.)

(heh. Bluntness rocks. And...XD Harue...oh Harue..XD *falls over*)
Harue listened to him with her normal look of despise on her face. He called a weapon his "baby". She thought it was pretty sick but she shook it off, looking at the guns. She had the small revolver in her bag but she was pretty useless with any type of gun. She stared at the weapons for a moment. "No thanks." She muttered, looking back at Derek. Her main astonishment was; "How the heck did you get all these?! What do you have, a gun garden!?"

Derek smirked impishly. "First, these aren't mine. They're an old friend of mine's. How he got them...well, we didn't nose into each other's business." He plucked a Glock off the wall and pointed it at the ceiling. "He's got several other caches like this hidden across the city, all of them look different than this one. I don't think they all have hand guns though." His eyes took on that glazed quality they did when he was deep in contemplation. "Steven his name was. Good guy. I think he planned on starting his own gang. He probably could have pulled it off too. He was the sort of person who you sort of had to follow. I would have followed him." He sighed, and tossed the firearm on the desk. "But he just sort of...left one day. I left shortly thereafter. Wasn't much to keep me here." He was now leaning on the back two legs of his chair at an outgrageous angle with the ground. He shut his eyes as memories flew through his mind.

Harue watched him then sat down on the floor looking through the backpack while Derek seemed to go down memory lane. Lets see...she had a few of the sleepers, one hand gun, a pack of bullets, a bunch of small bombs, smoke screen eggs...she fished a rectangular object out of the bag, looking at it for a moment while her eyes grew slightly dark. SHe glanced at Derek then stuffed the object back in the bag and ziupped it up. "You done yet?" She muttered. "I know an old guy like you has a lot to think about but there's more important things we need to be doing."
(meh meh meh I'm going to bring in someone from the fox gang. Just for kicks...)
"She's in here I know it. Watched her with my own eyes. Fled from the owls and went in here with some boyfriend of hers." The male voice was only slightly above a whisper and he seemed to be speaking to himself, yet it was a different language escaping his lips. But there was an earpiece in his ear, and a small speaker near his lips. "...Yes! I'm sure it was a guy! Yeah, I know. Do you think little Hakuje has told him any little secrets? No? She always was pretty secretive. Yah. No Chances. I know. I'll bring her there." The language sounded confusing and not like any the most accimplished linguist knew. The male stood up. He was tall, a over 6 feet. He was bare chested, wearing a pair of baggy tan pants and a black belt. He wasn't wearing shoes either. He was definately tan, with golden rod eyes and dirty blonde hair that reached his waist. The male suddenly dropped from the roof, right in front of the door which Harue and Derek were behind in the home-made armoury. He smirked then without any sort of reason he did the same Derek had done feeling the ledge far up until the door opened. THe male continued to grin and silently walked into the darkness of the armoury.
Harue, hearing a click glanced towards the door. "Do others come here?" She asked, glancing at Derek.

Derek had the gun levelled at the door, a knife in his other hand held under the butt. He was still at a strange angle, and he had to bend his neck to see the door. His fingers tensed on both of the gun's triggers, then relaxed a little bit. He shrugged at Harue's question. "Maybe. I don't really know much about this place, just that we used to come here often." His eyes narrowed as the door slid open, and he pulled the second trigger, thingying the revolver. He pointed it at the intruder's head. "Who is it?" he asked in a steely tone, his arm steady.

Harue watched the hall with curiousity.
The male that was hiding there ginned, the light glinting off his white teeth. "Hakuje no gasta'tok bek neambi sempitiak?" The male's voice said in the unusual language.
Harue's eyes widened for a moment then glared at the shadows. She shook her head slightly. "Jokte meht bantu an o kante mi kone tibra de." Her voice got angry. "Hakuje no batekma moto gah nek waque! Ju na bate!" She turned her glare at Derek. "Shoot him, dammit!" She yelled. Before anyone had reacted, smoke filled the small room and in the middle of it Harue screamed, there was more yelling in the strange language, then another smoke screen went off. Once everything finally cleared, only Harue's small frame was visible but it was obvious she was being held back by someone, hiding in the shadows. "Hakuje, you thought you could run?" The male whispered "I thought I could change, Jokte!" Harue said. Blood dripped onto the floor, coming from Harue's now swollen lip.

Derek pulled the trigger, but too late. The bullet struck the ceiling as he toppled backwards with suprise. He pulled the lower trigger as he went down, but struck his head on the desk behind him. The gun clattered to the floor, and he stuck the knife in the wall beside him in an effort to slow his descent. It left an ugly mark and protruded rudely from the wall about a foot from the floor. Derek groggily fumbled for a weapon of any sort, the handgun somehow evading his hand. He rolled off the fallen chair, coughing and trying, without much success, to get back on his feet. With a sudden burst of effort he stood shakily, leaning against the wall for support. He snatched the weapon closest his hand and pointed it at the intruder's head, his eyes bloodshot and his head spinning. "I take it you two have met before," he said in a slightly slurred voice.

Harue looked at Derek. "Shoot him!" "Not a chance!" The male, Jokte, said to Harue in the strange language. "You're boyfriend couldn't hit me if I was right in front of him." "He's not, and he could!" Harue said. "Derek, shoot him now!" She looked desperate, fear in her eyes as well. "Derek!" Jokte grasped her wrists harder. "Hakuje, the Leader wants you back." He whispered. Harue shut her eyes. "Derek, please!"

Derek blinked, shaking his head. He clicked off the safety and pulled the trigger, and was rewarded with a sharp click. He swore loudly, tossed the gun aside and began searching for his loaded revolver, still swearing.

Harue watched him, trying to pull out of Jokte's strong grasp but Jokte pulled her into the darkness. Finally speaking in english he said, "Der-ek?" He said, as if he hadn't spoken it in a long while. "Do not come find her, she is ours." Harue still struggled and started to scream for Derek something she had never thought she'd do. But she went quiet after a creak was heard from the opening door and everything silenced. Jokte had brought the shaking Harue up onto the roof where he had been before. "Hakuje!" He said shaking her shoulder. "Stop. It's up to the Leader to decide if he's going to kill you or not. Not me." The language was calm now. Harue a.k.a. Hakuje stared up at him. "I wasn't bound to that gang! I didn't take an oath or anything! You're just afraid your dirty little secrets will be exposed!" She said. Jokte sighed then grasped her wrist, leading her quickly off the roof and toward the slowly rising sun. "If people see me, you're worse off than dead, Hakuje."

Derek's hand closed around cold steel, and he flew through the door, his eyes frantically searching the darkness. He saw a shadow move on a roof and he fired three shots in rapid succession, each punctuated by a click of the hammer being thingyed. He swore, slammed the door to the room shut and mounted a fire escape staircase, appearing on the roof a moment later, still cursing. He pointed the gun about more or less blindly. He flicked the drum open, pulled the plunger and the empty shells jingled as the hit the ground. He popped in a new clip and snapped it shut, all the while his eyes prodding the shadows.

Jokte and Harue didn't move too far. It was a small warehouse that housed about 20 fox members at the moment. THe fox members, like most real foxes, were nocturnal. Most gang members were that way too. So most of the members were either already sleeping or just stretching out on furs and wool blankets. Harue looked around. "This place smells like fox...real fox I mean." She muttered. "I have to say, I kind of missed it. But I'm not staying." Sure enough, there were small fox cubs lying around the fox gang members. Jokte grasped her arm tighter taking her to a leaner man, with not many muscles but the look in his eyes said all about his power. "Hakuje..." He murmured. His voice was raspy. Harue could knew why. This man had some of his vocal cords cut out now his voice wasn't over a whisper. "My name is Harue!" Harue said. "I'm not staying here, and you can't make me!" THe man hissed slightly at her like an animal. "Hakuje, we need to be sure you won't tell anyone about us." He hissed. "I'M HAVEN'T AND I WON'T!" Harue screamed. "I'm stopping all the gangs!" Jokte sighed then pushed her down on her shoulder, making her get on her knees and bow to the leader. Harue clenched her teeth. "I'm not afraid of anyone here!" The leader rubbed his throat then waved his hand, shooing Jokte away. Harue sat up, just on her knees now. "You were supposed to have brought us weapons, little Hakuje." The leader said. "They're mine now." Harue sneered. She had left her bag back at the armoury room where Derek and she had gone. "You have no respect, girl!" The leader said in a harsh whisper. "Who gave them to you?" "Why are you asking? You know where they came from." "This is not the point! You have betrayed us, Hakuje. We can't risk you going out in the open with our secrets in your mind." "Oh like-" The leader cupped a hand over her mouth as she glared at him. He waved his other hand again and Jokte came back, pulling Hakuje up off the ground. Harue wasn't sure what was going to happen now...
