(<.< Just gonna skip to a little later, if you don't mind Brad.)
Harue swore under her breath as her eyes opened slightly. It had to be almost noon... She was numb yet it her head hurt as well as the bruises on her face and arm. She debated whether to sit up or not but finally did, hissing through her teeth. She looked to Derek and Steven before lying back down again, facing the wall. They saved her. She had wanted them to save her but now it made her feel weak. She obviously needed Derek's help or she was going to get herself killed. SHe folded her sore arms over her chest, thinking how she could explain it easy to Derek but there was no explaining. He saw her dying. She sighed, running a hand through her curly blonde hair.

(No problem. I think the posts in between would have been pretty boring anyway.)
When Derek awoke, Steven was still cleaning handguns. "Don't you ever sleep?" he asked, rubbing one eye sleepily. Steven thought about that for a minute. "Not really, no," he replied with a grin. Derek sighed and stood up, rubbing his back. "Your floor is quite uncomfortable," Derek noted. "Floors aren't supposed to be," Steven replied simply. Derek grabbed a chair, looking over at Harue, who was still asleep. He sat down heavily beside Steven. He winced slightly each time he made contact with anything. He rolled up his sleeves and examined his arms, which were covered with large ugly bruises. Derek sighed. "There's some Aspirin under there," Steven said, answering the unasked question without taking his eyes off his work. Derek opened the cupboard he had indicated, and was confronted with a large variety of bottles. He pushed them aside and peered intently behind them before pulling out the bottle, unscrewing it. "So, what brings you back to this fine city?" Derek asked, swallowing three of the pills without water. "Oh, this and that," Steven replied evasively, "Came back to collect a few things, maybe stay for awhile." He shrugged. "And you?" Derek also shrugged. "Just thought I'd pop in for a bit. You know, see the wide variety of tourist attractions found in this fine city," he said expansively, resting his head on the table. Then he heard Harue stir. "Sounds like our guest is awake," Derek noted quietly. "I think we should leave her alone for a little while. I expect she has a few things to think through." Derek shrugged again. He sat back up, and leaned back in the chair. "So why did you leave in the first place?" he asked, "We are all more than a little bit concerned when you just disappeared. Jake assumed the worst, as he tended to do quite a bit. He figured you'd finally been killed by a gang. The rest of us didn't really think so, though. I don't even think Jake believed it." Steven set down his tools. "The bounties on my head got a bit heavy," he said, coughing a bit uncomfortably. Derek eyed him suspiciously. "There were only two bounties. Surely that isn't so bad." Steven looked at him. "Only two of them were publicly announed. Our old pal Georgie Boy had a rather flattering amount put on my head after I killed his eldest son, Bruno, Bear heir apparent." He coughed again and picked up his tools. Derek's eyes widened. "You did what!?" he exclaimed, the chair falling forward. "Well it was an accident. I tried to shoot him in the stomach. Painful, perhaps, but rarely fatal. His klutz of a bodyguard jerked my arm when he tackled me, though, and it went through his head instead." Derek looked exasperated. "Are there any more of these little incidents I don't know about?" Steven coughed again and began scrubbing quite hard. Derek's eyes went even wider. "Who was it?" "Oh, someone unimportant," Steven replied. "<i>How</i> unimportant?" "Oh, just the Leopard leader's wife," he replied. "Second wife," he added. Derek's jaw dropped. "That was you!?" he said in a bewildered tone. "You were the one that killed his wife?" "Second wife," Steven corrected. "You caused Geoffrey to place the blame on the Eagles. They denied everything, but Geoffrey declared open war on them anyway! No one wanted to become involved, but the web of alliances forced everyone else into it." Derek ran a hand through his hair. "Do you realize you single-handedly caused the downfall of the Leopard gang? They were the peace-keepers! You managed to start the Gang Wars all by yourself." Steven took on a slightly pained look. "I didn't mean to, honestly. The poisoned coffee was meant for the Cat ambassador. They were getting rather pushy about that time, you may recall." He turned to Harue appealingly. "You believe me, don't you?"
(I had to mention some of the other gangs. I made up the Leopard gang just now. it's pretty easy to figure out what they were from their conversation. Yay plot progression!)

(Woo!)
Harue heard herself being brought up again. Her thoughts traveled from Derek to their conversation. She tensed her shoulders a bit but didn't move much "I don't know you. I can't really say who I believe." In reality, she hadn't been in the Fox gang for that long. A few months tops. When she came she learned that the Gang Wars had been started but it had been going on for months already. As far as she was concerned, it wasn't any of her business...but Harue was pretty nosy. "If you want my opinion..." She murmured. "THe whole Gang Wars seems a bit stupid. The gangs are just as much animals as their symbols. They mark their territory then if someone comes in and disrupts the balance of nature and that territory, a war breaks out. Usually, someone comes out victorious and the other comes out dead or injured. Its just dumb...We should have more sense than that." Harue sat up, wincing, then looked to Derek and Steven. "Of course I wasn't ever really interested in politics. Or the gangs for that matter." She cracked her knuckles softly. "Things just go the wrong way sometimes. That's what happened with the Leopard Gang and the Gang Wars. Steven disrupted the balance of nature around the gangs and this caused a war. Only now, everyone's stepping into the wrong territories."
(... : ( Harue's like...sad. Plus, embarrassed.)
