M'yin-de rubbed her face with her hands. "Different culture does not mean that rudeness is acceptable. I shall speak to one who has higher status than him the next chance I get." She took a few deep breaths and stared at the blinking lights in the room, getting her anger under control. "Since we cannot do anything until he decides to speak to us evil Yautja again, do you want the tour of the ship again? Thwei-Tjau'ke, as soon as you hear anything, contact me. Perhaps alert the Council of Elders, to warn them of a possible situation between Ixra-weh and us. I do not want a small Yautja ship attacked because they stray into the wrong territory." M'yin-de turned her head and looked at Pharren, unhappiness and sorrow on her fearsome, scarred face. "I am sorry, Phar'ren. I hate politics. Don't worry about your people. We will not harm them unless we are attacked first. I will do everything in my considerable power to prevent that from happening." The female reached out and wiped away the tears that dripped down her face. "How about that tour, then?" she smiled kindly.

PHarren stared at her then nodded then stood up shakily. She admitted to herself in silence that M'yin-de's words did not comfort her very much but she took them to heart anyway. She looked to Thwei-Tjau'ke and smiled a little. "Thank you, Thwei-Tjau'ke." She murmured then looked towards M'yin-de again.
"Those Yautja are dangerous, Pharren. You shouldn't be talking like you could fight them." "But even you said that they were weak, Mother! You said so!" The Marindan female, turned to look at her young child and smiled a little. "Weak in the mind and soul, Pharren. They are not real warriors. If they do not spend equal time training the mind, then they do not understand anything about being a warrior." Pharren stared at her then stepped back. "But that means I can kick their butts, right?" The Marindan female just laughed and continued with her work. "Go play, Pharren, you've had a long day. Don't let the Elders catch you again."
Pharren stood close to M'yin-de as she took her around the ship. She wondered when Donten would call back...if he ever did.

Thwei-Tjau'ke bobbed his head and turned back to the computers. M'yin-de led Pharren about the ship, pointing out the meditation/relaxation room, filled with large, Yautja sized pillows; the baths, which were very important to the Yautja, to ease pains from old injuries and speed healing; the armory and various cabins and the kitchens. M'yin-de stopped there, digging about in the huge refrigerator and producing two glass bottles, a few slabs of meat and two strange, blue-spotted brown fruit. "Try eating something, or at least drinking some water. You will feel better. The naxa fruit are very good." M'yin-de shifted nervously. Pharren was not happy, was worried and she wasn't very good at comforting others. If she could, she would say that nothing would ever happen to her or her people, that she would get home alright. But she could not and would not lie. M'yin-de's rank put her in a bad position; she was looked upon for leadership and must do what was right and what honor demanded. The female warrior clicked her mandibles absently as she thought. We know so little about Ixra-weh. Our warriors are not known for their abilities for reporting what they hunt and for that, we do not have the upper hand. They know more about us than we do of them. Gods, I wish I knew where this will lead us!

Pharren just watched her and looked at the fruit. "I think we have them on Ixra-weh." She murmured, taking one of the naxa fruit into her hands. "They're scarce because Moons are not very capable of supporting vegitation, but sometimes with hard work things just pop out of the ground." She turned the fruit around in her hands a few time but she didn't really feel like eating. When Wehines (people of Ixra-weh) were very upset like this, their stomachs close up and sometimes it takes doses of brainwashing to get them happy again. Pharren could feel her stomach pinching against her and put the fruit back onto the table. "I'm sorry." She said. "I just can't eat."

"Drink some water then if you can't eat. It would not do you any good to become dehydrated. Even if you feel you cannot, you should try." M'yin-de said gently, if slightly absently. "The Homeworld is very lush and has great forests. It is very rich in life, though much of it is deadly and most of the planet is swampy. We must work hard to drain the ground enough to build on or to grow food that dislikes a great deal of moisture. Our planets are very different, eh?" she added with a grin. She picked up a greenish piece of meat and bit into it, the sharp teeth in her small mouth easily cutting through it. She ate most of the meat. M'yin-de had not eaten for over one of their days, slightly longer than the ooman 24 hours. The meat was from a Kainde Amedha, which were edible to the Yautja if the meat was bled and carefully aged. She stared blankly at the wall as she started eating the naxa, waiting for an answer from Donten or another Wehine.

Pharren watched her then looked to the bottle of water and bit her lip. It wouldn't go anywhere when she was in this state, and this just made her more depressed. She shook her head again then glanced back up at M'yin-de. "What do you do for play?" She asked suddenly. She thought maybe a game of some sort would take her mind off of the depression. And maybe by the time the game was over, Donten would have called back.

"We train, watch others battle in the keh'rites(arenas), bet on fights, play games of chance with dice, carve bone and ivory, talk... M'aat-hew, the ooman who has joined us, he brought several ooman games. They have become very popular among our clan. I have one of their games with me. It is in my cabin, come with me and I will teach you." She got up, pleased that Pharren was being less listless and started off. After digging in a trunk, M'yin-de produced a pack of cards, carefully made and ornately decorated. The Elder pulled two cushions out from under the huge, fur covered bed and set them on the floor. She sat down, crossing her legs and began shuffling the cards. "Don't tell the other warriors I like these games. They think that I think they are ooman silliness."

Pharren couldn't help but smile then knelt on the cusion in front of the Elder. "I won't tell anyone." She promised and watched as M'yin-de shuffled the cards. "What is the game called?" She asked, looking eager to play. She glanced around the cabin. M;yin-de was right. Their ships, yet small, were very luxerious.

((Heh. 'Tis alright. It's nothing compared to mine on one of my online stories. I haven't updated since october 28 and I used to do it almost every week! Luckily, I finished the story, so I can finally let everyone know what happens... They's gonna skin me alive if I wait much longer!)) "My favourite is called War." M'yin-de began dealing out the cards, dividing the pack in half. "We put down our cards at the same time and whoever has the highest card, gets to keep both. An Ace, like this," She held up one. "beats everything. If we both put down cards that are the same, a war starts. We lay down three cards and then take a fourth. Whoever has the highest fourth card keeps them all. The game goes on a long time and it is good for beginners." The warrior began showing Pharren which cards were higher and the names.

((War is an awesome game. It's good to play on long road trips.))

(heck yes, war is awesome! X3 I didn't realize until Sunday that I had always played it wrong) Pharren listened carefully to M'yin-de as she explained everything. Pharren knew nothing really about the ooman world that they had left. Only that it was dark, cold, and Yautja hunting ground. When they had started playing Pharren had a hard time understanding the game. She really had no knowledge of mathematics yet. She now realized that all the classes and lessons saved for when she was older were drastic parts of life on the Yautja Homeworld.

M'yin-de saw the trouble that Pharren was having with the cards and explained it further. "When there are more of these little shapes, that means it is a higher number. I will help you. I won't cheat like the rest of those tarei'hasans(unworthy opponants) would." The Kings, Queens and Jacks all bore images of Yautja. "If you get bored of this, I know a couple others." The card games were so popular because they were easy to learn and easy to carry. A pack could be tucked away into a spare pouch in their armor and taken anywhere in case they had to wait.

Pharren looked at the cards again then looked at M'yin-de and shook her head. "No, I want to learn this game." She said. She looked obviously determined as she gave a faint smile. She once again turned to the cards. She carefully counted the red pointy shapes, with a little difficulty.

She smiled as Pharren slowly got the hang of the game. "You are doing well. Some of the stupid Youngbloods took much longer. For them, if you can't beat it up, make fun of it or eat it, it is not worth getting involved. Foolish things have been struck too many times on the head in training. Permanantly concussed until the hormones calm down." she said with a grin. "They are thinking games." M'yin-de said with mock arrogance.
