Featherwisp. One of the best Mechas ever built. It was started in the year 2006 but they gave up when they realized that Featherwisp would just frighten people instead of protect them. The government surely wouldn't accept it. But after over a century, Featherwisp was broken down then they started rebuilding it using the original bueprints with more futuristic changes. Featherwisp was completed in 2164, taking on the governmental name, Mecha-26-VPR, after being accepted by the world in 2167. Featherwisp has been duplicated and now in 2171 there are 5 Featherwisp models, all inactive due to something they did not catch until they tried to pilot the first Featherwisp. The thingypit was far too small for the adult human it was planning to pilot it. The thingypits were child sized. This was taken to the UN and they decided that governmentally chosen children would be trained from birth to pilot the Featherwisps. The safest place to be, in fact, would be inside the Featherwisps, the decided. But what would the Featherwisps be protecting us from? Well, when the first Featherwisps were started, other countries had started making Mechas of their own. But these Mecha's were rogue, no fit to protect anyone. These Mecha's would activate themselves at different times and destroy whole cities in one night. But these rogue Mechas were easily stopped at first and though in this long time, there have only been a few rogue Mecha attacks, they started to get worse as decades progressed. The rogue Mechas are rumoured to be piloted by someone evil but there was no way to open the Mechas' thingypits to see.
Five children from the ages between 9 and 14 have been chosen world wide to pilot the Featherwisps. The five Featherwisps have names that include the following;
Mecha Unit 26-VPR: Featherwisp This featherwisp is the original Featherwisp from which the other four were duplicated from. The pilot of this Featherwisp is probably the most compatible to a Captain status, leading the group of Mechas. All the Featherwisps look exactly alike except for colors and numbers on the chests of the Mechas. This Featherwisp is red and white with yellow symbols on the chest saying "26" and "VPR" below it. Featherwisp has most likely the most power due to being the original model. Featherwisp was created in Houston, Texas, USA. This is also the place where most of the Rogue Mechas were created.
Mecha Unit 262-VPS: Earthenfare This Featherwisp unit's pilot should be compatible to a side-kick sort of status, taking Featherwisp's place if it is ever inconvenient for Featherwisp to be piloted. Of all the Featherwisp units, Earthenfare should have a pilot be ready and on command, as Featherwisp will most likely rely on unit 262-VPS for most instructions. Earthenfare is green and black with white symbols that say "262" and "VPS" below it. Earthenfare may have more advanced looking Mechware but less power, as might all the duplicated Featherwisp Mecah units. Earthenfare was also created in Houston, Texas, USA.
Mecha Unit 263-VPT: Darkwraith Darkwraith Featherwisp Unit's pilot is expected to have good communication abilities, as the communication systems in the Unit is more advanced than in any other unit and for these advanced communications, it will probably be more of a lookout for the other Mechas, telling them when any Rogue Mecha attacks. Darkwraith Unit is all black with white lettering, "263" and "VPT" below it. Darkwraith was created in Tokyo, Kanto, Japan.
Mecha Unit 264-VPU: Skylark THis Featherwisp Unit's pilot is expected to have a calm way in battle with Rogue Mechas, for this Mecha has an advanced mind sensory system. If the pilot freaks out, the Mecha acts as the pilot would act if it were out of the Mecha. i.e.: Run away, most likely or hesitate. This Unit is blue and black in color and in red lettering it says "264" and "VPU" below it. Skylark was created in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Mecha Unit 265-VPV: Moonlessmoore This last duplicate of the Featherwisp Unit should have a pilot that is strong in body, spirit, and mind, as Moonlessmoore Unit is a heavy model and should be able to handle heavy objects and its heavy weapons. This unit is silver and in black lettering is says "265" and "VPV" below it. Moonlessmoore was created in Berlin, Germany.
As for the pilots there are 5. 2 pilots will be from Houston, Texas, USA. 1 pilot will be from Tokyo, Kanto, Japan. 1 pilot Will be from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. 1 pilot woll be from Berlin, Germany.
All of the Mechas and the Mecha Pilots have been transported to Houston, Texas, USA but the Rogue Mechas will most likely be moving.
You may be a Rogue Mecha if you wish, otherwise we'll just godmode the Rogue Mechas but thats ALL THE GODMODING EVER!
The setting for the first posts is Houston, Texas in a facility where the Mechas are stored and the Mecha pilots and Mecha trainers and directors stay. The Mecha Pilots go to a small public school near the facility. The Mecha Pilots are also trained most days after school in the Mech lab. They test overall compatability with the Featherwisp Units. The Mecha pilots are meeting for the first time.

"So you're Mai Yamitsu?" The light haired director asked, peering at the small girl over the paper. The dark headed child nodded. "Yes." The director smiled then looked to his left, at the Mecha Units that towered above them. "I take it you are piloting Darkwraith, yes?" Mai nodded again. The child was small but that wasn't uncommon. She was almost eleven years old with short black hair and ink black eyes that were framed by silver rimmed glasses. She was wearing a short blue dress that reached her knees and black sandles. Mai looked around the large facility that smelled of the hospital she had been in just last month. They thought she wasn't going to be able to meet the other Mecha Pilots in time but she managed to get out of the hospital early. The surgery was supposed to help her pilot the Darkwraith but she wasn't sure how. It was just surgery on her back that wasn't straight. Thanks to futuristic technology, she had a new metal spinal cord that would work just as well as a bone one, even better actually. The director looked back at her with a smile. "I'm sure the other pilots will be here shortly. Some may not even be able to come today. At least we'll have one Mecha up and running. Who we really need is the Featherwisp pilot, no offense, Miss Yamitsu." "None taken." Mai murmured, staring up at the original Mecha, Featherwisp. "Unit 262 really is a stroke of pure genius." She added quietly. "But I wonder...without the Featherwisp Units would we Mecha Pilots have a purpose in this life?" The director was taken back by the child's deep thinking then he smiled weakly. "Lucky you have the Darkwraith, eh? But you don't really sound like you're good at communications, no offense once again, Miss Yamitsu. Maybe you and one of the other pilots could-" "I am not switching Units, sir." Mai said, watching him. "I would rather die than switch pilots. I was chosen out of billions of children on the planet to pilot the Darkwraith and I have studied it for years. I'm not taking all this work to waste." She continued. "I know Darkwraith inside and out as well as Featherwisp but Darkwraith has been my number one priority for years. I would come home and study the Mecha manuals over and over until I had memorized it." She glanced back at the Darkwraith. "Do you believe that I am not fit for communications, sir?" The director gulped as he watched the small girl. "No, Miss Yamitsu! I think you are very ready to pilot the Darkwraith!" He said. He knew that this small child could easily get him fired.

(Neato. I'll probably join this. First I need to catch up on posts in some other threads. I haven't posted in what feels like forever. Maybe I'll post later tonight, once I finish my homework.)

(Okay. I need a big, burly character to drive Moonlessmoore. Heh. *rubs hands*
Hmm. Brad thinks that you and I are going to be the only ones, so maybe we should each do two characters? I'll start with one.)
Johnson leaned against Moonlessmoore affectionately as the instructor droned on about start-up and safety procedures. The instructor had a slightly slurred accent, and Johnson found it incredibly easy to phase him out. He thought of how it would feel to pilot something as immense as the metal behemoth against which he idled. Johnson wasn't worried that he would make mistakes piloting the machine if he didn't listen to the instructor. He had been operating heavy machinery all of his life. His immense size had made finding work laughably easy. At first he had done routine stuff: stocking shelves, lifting TVs, helping people move. But one day, at a department store he had worked at, the person who usually drove the forklift had taken the day off, but had left it in the middle of the store. Not only had Johnson parked it out of the way, but before doing so he had totally mastered the propane-powered machine, and had proceeded to complete the task the normal driver had claimed would take hours in a matter of minutes. He had quickly become the forklift driver. His mastery of machines didn't end at forklifts, however. He had gone into construction for a short period of time, but after he had unintentionally taken six drivers' jobs, he had decided to quit while he was ahead. Johnson had experienced many similar incidents, which occurred right up to the point when Mishra Corp., the world-famous producers of the Featherwisp mechs, had sent him a letter, informing him that he had been chosen as a pilot for a Featherwisp mechanized assault vehicle. He had come to Houston, and had endured the 8-week training camp. He had slept through most of the classes, and had amused himself by flirting outrageously with the female students. Johnson was not an unattractive fellow, and had broken more than a few hearts during the camp. The male students all despised him, more through jealousy than anything else. They were all sure he would be the first student sent home, but Johnson had laughed himself sick when the results of the neuroscan had determined that he was most suited to pilot a Featherwisp mech. He had sat in the chair as they strapped all sorts of wires to his head, and efficiently scanned his brain for desirable traits for a Featherwisp pilot. The instructor's face had gone deathly pale, and she insisted on redoing the test at least a half-dozen times before she accepted it. She had then, grudgingly, put the final printout in a large, white envelope, sealed it, and put it in a pile. So now he stood here, wondering when the instructor would let him pilot the bloody thing. "Any questions?" the instructor asked. Johnson shook his head. The instructor smiled politely. "So you've read the manual and everything, right?" Johnson also smiled, and shook his head, watching as the blood quickly drained from the instructor's face, and she began to splutter. It was just as this happened that a green light went on at the edge of the large, tarmac-like surface on which they stood. The instructor retreating, still spluttering, as Johnson pushed himself off of the huge mech. "So ol' girl, shall we get down to business?" he asked the machine, cracking his knuckles. As if in response, the machine lowered itself on one knee, and extended a hand. "Why thank you," Johnson said simply, climbing on. Moonlessmoore was a curious looking Featherwisp mech. It's most peculiar aspect was probably it's lack of a head. There was a slight bump where a head on a humanoid mech might be, which served as a thingypit, but no head. Its arms were huge and silver, and in black, crisp letters, "265-VPV" was etched on its chest, like a badge. Johnson regarded it happily as it raised him to the lump that served as a thingypit.
(Arg! I'm writing like poo. My sister is having a birthday party, and there's bad music and screechy girls in the background. Good Lord.)

(I feel your pain. *has birthday parties just like that* XD)
The director straightened his tie and watched Mai go around the huge Mecha, once...twice...three times now. "You've tested it a couple times, right?" He asked. Mai nodded, not even looking at him. Darkwraith was a piece of Mech all right. Many people in Mai's family were worried that at such a young age, she wouldn't be able to pilot something that looked like it could go out of control at any moment. It also didn't look like something that she would have the motivation to pilot, nor the skills. As the director said, she never seemed one to communicate much before. She had never said a complete sentence until she was 6 and even after that, she was quiet most of the time. Mai just never spoke unless she had to give a comment or an answer. Her father, a corporate salesman in the Mech industry, had spoken to her about it. She had immediately gone in for testing and soon was assigned to Darkwraith. "Do you want to go up into it, to test the mind systems, communication levels, anything?" the director asked. Mai looked to him and nodded again. The director activated the Mecha and Darkwraith gently lowered ono its knees, Mai just climbing up instead of using the elevator on the side of the room to get up into the thingypit. She had obviously had a little experience.
"Beta test..." Mai murmured once she was in the thingypit. She had five wires running out of the back of her head now that were plugged into Darkwraith. The director, so far far far down below clicked the intercom and camera and said in a monotone voice "Testing, one, two, one, two. Hear me, Miss Yamitsu?" "Yes." Mai murmured. "How are the mind systems running?" Mai looked around the thingypit. "...Fine, I suppose." "Great." The director said. "Let's try controls. Left arm." Mai pushed some controls and Darkwraith put its left arm out in front of it and flexed the fingers then put its arm down. This went on for a little while with weapons and movements then Mai was released from the thingypit. "Any quenstions, comments, concerns?" The director asked, watching the girl walk back into the room. Mai nodded once again. "Are there others?" The director pointed down the hall where there were different rooms for each Mecha and Mai started walking down the hall.

(I would never know, all of my sisters are to old for screeching parties.)
It's almost time... The young girl thought quietly to herself. As soon as the ebony car pulled to a stop she slowly opened the door. Light hazel eyes glanced at the facility, slightly impressed, by its appearance. Her facials were emotionless as she began to head towards her Mecha Unit of choice. It had been easy to be chosen for she had surpassed in students in intelligence and did well on all tests. Even camp was simple enough, for she spent little time socializing and had studied hard enough to pass with flying colors. Her mood rarely changed as approached the machine. Hands gently touched what was to become a new part of her. An electric feeling ran through her fingers has they met with the metal.
"Hey you! Get away from there!" The officer yelled as the girl gently took her finger off of the machine. "I don't think you know who I am..." Her voice was quite authoritative and held a bit of mysteriousness. "Deloris Knowr." She stated obviously, as she pulled her brown nappy hair back in a ponytail with the black hair tie on her wrist. Brown skin shined brightly as she faced the officer.
Realizing the name at an instant the man began to apologize, but Deloris spoke. "It's alright it's not everyday that you meet an African Canadian." She smiled having no hard feeling towards the guard; he was just doing his job. “So when can I take a test drive?” She asked as she glanced at the beauty of the blue and black machine with 264-VPU in red stated across its chest. Yes, this glorious machine is called Skylark. “Right now, go ahead and get in,” said the officer just glad that he was not getting fired.
Gracefully the girl climbed into the thingypit and sat comfortably in the chair. Instead of wires a helmet fit snuggly upon her head, as it’s many wires connected to all of the parts of the brain. An electric feeling came over her once more as it intertwined with her inner mind. In a way together they were one, machine and human. Even a sense of wonder came through her and some would even say that at that moment the machine smiled.
Eagerly she shook the arms of the machine and stretched them out. Then she took a few steps forward barely making a sound as she practiced stealth. After a good five minutes of practice she stopped and obediently to her mind the helmet came apart from her head. She knew that this was only the beginning of what she could and would do with her new partner. Gently she came down from the machine, and headed for a vending machine for a snack.

It took Johnson roughly five minutes to get a feel for the mech. Those five minutes, the instructor would later admit, were the five scariest minutes of his life. The machine stood still for a moment, as Johnson seated himself in the thingypit. He popped his knuckles and grasped the controls eagerly. The machine lifted it's arms, then let them drop. Then it took a tentative step forward, and stopped. Then a large laser mounted under it's shoulder created a smoking crater in the middle of the ground. The laser then pointed itself at the startled instructor, but at the last second it fired its blast into the air. After staggering around for a couple of minutes, the mech took off, flying several hundred feet into the air. It came rocketing back towards Earth a few moments later, and it only slowed to a halt at the last second, landing delicately on the tarmac. When Johnson came out, he was grinning broadly, and the instructor was passed out.

Mai watched as the instructor fainted with emotionless eyes then looked at the older boy, Johnson. He piloted Moonlessmoore, obviously, and even more obvious, he was very good at it. She stared at him for a long time before walking past the instructor on the tiled floor and to Johnson. She put out her hand, still looking pretty emotionless. "I am Mai Yamitsu." She murmured. "I pilot Darkwraith, Featherwisp Unit VPT-263." She waited for the older boy to shake her hand and introduce himself, but her eyes flickered to his Mecha. largely built, larger than all the Mechas. When Mai glanced back at Johnson it was even more obvious that he was there to pilot Moonlessmoore.

Deloris dug in her jeans pocket to find a dollar, which she inserted within the machine. After she got her snack she sat on a bench nearby. In the shade it was easier to see her blue and white shirt and her black shoes. Despite her mothers advice she had dressed casually not thinking of this as a formal event.
“Where are the others?”
She asked to one of the guard who passed her once she had finished her snack. It was obvious that they were here because she had heard one of the machines. The officer only pointed to the right from where he had come. She nodded and thanked him; it was only a matter of time for them to meet. Yet instead of going to meet the others, she went to sleep upon the bench as a wave of tiredness caught up with her.

(Yarr! Sorry I held you guys up. I am moderately swamped with history homework. I've got to stop saying yarr. I keep annoying people on CS because I always say yarr when I die.
I was going to make a post, but that damn history assignment totally sucked the energy out of me. Aw man, I still need to make that damn presentation for careers. D: I better get to work. I will definitely make a post here tomorrow. And I'll post in all the other RPs I'm in, wheter I feel like it or not.)

(Okay, I explained why I haven't posted in The Chosen Ones. Righto, let's do this.)
Johnson shook the hand, grinning broadly. "I'm Johnson, and this here's my girl," he said, gesturing towards Moonlessmoore proudly. He released that hand. "Which one do you pilot?"
(I couldn't think of much.)
