(I'm starting to like this character...) (Haha you should name it and keep it as a pet.)

(never done this before, be forewarned, but I'm going to try.) A creature of some sort crept out of a nearby ruined building. It had long, pointed ears and a tail to match, it carried a sword and seemed angry at the fighting, but more angry at the intruder. She (as it was female) looked hatefully at Daray before drawing her blood red sword. Her Yellow slitted eyes peirced the air as she looked on. the tattered remains of a set of clothes hung limply from her slightly furry body. She walked over to Daray with her sword and let out a gruntish noise. (gruntish? where did I come up with that?)

Daray had sprawled on the remains of a park bench and had drifted off to sleep unwillingly. He didn't know how long he had slept, and as he woke up he struggled to remember where he was. He opened his eyes, observed the ruined city and sighed. Then he heard the footsteps that had evidently awakened him. He looked towards their source and groaned at what he saw. He sat up grudgingly, shaking his head in disbelief. He had assumed there would be more than one of the creatures, but that didn't make staring at this new threat shambling towards him any easier. He stood up slowly. His headache was gone, and he didn't feel too bad. He felt for his knife, and panic seized him for a split second when his hand met nothing but air, but relief washed over him as he stooped and snatched it out from under the bench. He sheathed it and looked himself over. He was a mess, his cloak caked with dirt and blood. He removed it quickly and shook some of the dirt off it. He put it back on, feeling marginally cleaner, and assessed this creature.
