I switched on the TV just now only to find that my sister was the last one to use it. I deduce this not by the candy wrappers scattered all over the living room, nor the fact that the remote is in the kitchen. Even the case of makeup which sits happily on the sofa isn't a dead giveaway. I know she was the last to use it, because even before the screen has warmed up, the sound of a hip hop music video can be heard quite distinctly. I sigh as I hear the crunch of some forgotten teen magazine as I flop heavily on top of it, and push aside a plate of some meal that had doubtlessly been consumed in front of the TV. I search desperately for the remote to kill the volume, but deep down I know that it truly lies in the nether regions of our house. The situation grows hopeless, and as a final act of desperation I hurdle myself towards the television. My fingers search frantically for the volume control, knowing all too well that the channels don't change until the TV is on. No luck. Why do they have to make these buttons so damn small? I think desperately to myself. My fingers scrabble to the only button that is in any way different from the rows of others: the power button. But too late! 50 Cent's "In Da Club" video flares on to the 15 inch screen with painful clarity. Only briefly do I see 50 Cent droning on in an excruciatingly slurred voice about his "bottle of bub with his hoes in da club" or some variation on a common theme. I sigh with relief as the picture is reduced to a tiny dot in the center of the screen and vanishes. I fall back on the floor in front of the TV dramatically, only to be rewarded with landing on some sharp object protruding rudely from the carpet. I roll onto my stomach, breathing heavily. This day just keeps getting worse, I think, and head upstairs to post my ordeal on the Dark Haven forums. Ah...that felt good. I just felt compelled to write that, and since MUCH seems to be a fad of today, I decided to post it here. I exagerate slightly. Okay a lot. Okay, as in the only things that are fact is the part where my sister leaves the TV tuned to MUCH after she uses it . What can I say? I have an over-active imagination. Anyways I do strongly dislike MUCH. Who's with me? Or against me? Brad

Me me me me ! I cant agree more. . .maybe I'm not like the typical teenage girl, but I can still relate to something in your post. MUCH makes the sterotypes and expects the teens in the society today to take up that 'baggy cloths', that 'gangstah' thingy. . .its irritating. I see them every day. . .in either baggy clothing that slips down past your butt or stuff that's so tight that it squeezes your flesh to make it look in such a way that I vomit at the sight of.

Haha yeah, I have this nasty habit of throwing insults at rap whenever I hear it. It just bothers me. Someimes they hook up these speakers in the cafeteria and blare crappy music all lunch hour. As soon as I see those speakers I'm overcome by an urge to grab one and run away. It would be random and funny, but I think I'd get in some trouble. Or maybe I could do something more subtle and "accidentally" knock it on to the floor and jumping up and down on it. It was an accident officer, I swear! Ah that would be satisfying.

Well at my school--sorry, I should really say I. I have a slightly more conservative definition of punk rock. I don't really consider Greenday, Billy Talent or Good Charlotte (Good Charlotte especially) punk rock. The Ramones, The Offspring. Those are what I consider punk rock. I find bands like Simple Plan and Sum 41 have a much more pop-punk sort of sound. Also, I think American Idiot is one of the most overrated songs in the history or music. I'm sorry, but it's really not that good. Brad

My theory which explains the success of American Idiot is that people think that people think that if they have refined political opinions they will dub the said person intelligent. Canadians, however, seem to think that anything that calls Americans idiots is highly political and refined, so, naturally, they flock to the song.

Eh,there's a reason why I stick to Classical Music and simply watch as my other classmates debate about which singer/rapper/etc. is better and such. >.<

...THis is going to sound weird but my mom hates it when I flip the channel to MTV and she tells me to watch the crappy reruns on Nickalodeon...not that I hate Nick but its just I've seen every episode of Spongebob...EVER. MTV is pretty good sometimes and I'm with a lot of you. I hate rap because everyone else likes it at school. And oh yeah, crappy thing happened last week. In art class we have a radio but the Man *the prinicipal* said we couldn't use it...he said it had a bad effect on it...for cripes sake its music!

I also hate the shows on MUCH and MTV. Pimp My Ride just bugs me. I mean, have they done a car that isn't green, purple or pink? Newlyweds, I think, is one of the most pointless shows in the history of television. We get to see that Jessica person pregnant dog and whine at Nick for half an hour? That's a high-quality TV show. Wow. The fan thing is pretty stupid too. Fandemonium or something. They do these things that aren't really disgusting or challenging and they win a prize. These shows promote stupidity, I swear. MUCH in your space is a cookie-cutter program that's almost identical to While You Were Out, except they don't try to hide it from the person. Punk'd is the only show worth watching on MTV, but it's rarely aired.
Just a few more reasons I hate MUCH.
