Linith followed behind Roth, looking at all the people he pushed by. He said sorry quietly to most of them, only to be rewarded with a glare. Eventually they reached the house. "How exactly are we going to get horses if all these people are possesed?" Linith asked Roth quietly.

"Not possesed, influenced," Roth said quietly, holding up a hand. He knocked thrre times more, then his staff appeared and he struck the ddoor quite loudly with the tip. He heard shuffling feet and angry voices inside, approaching the door. "Hurry up you lazy old fool!" he called loudly. "I know you're in there." The door opened and an elderly man stood at the door. Roth didn't recognize the face. "Er, I'm sorry, I appear to have the wrong address," Roth said sheepishly, checking the house number. "No, it's right. Um, you wouldn't happen to know what happened to the people who lived here about 15 years ago?" he asked. The old man took a thoughtful pose. "Well, about 13 years ago the fellow who used to live here died. Then some old crow bought the place. Then she died, and now I own the place." With that, he slammed the door quite loudly. "damn," Roth said, scratching his head.

"Alright..." Linith replied to Roth. It didn't seem like much of a difference to him, as either way they were still not thereselves. Lintih watched once more as Roth knocked on the door and someone answered. He listened as he told Roth that the person he was looking for had died. When the door closed, Linith proceeded to ask, "Who were you looking for?"

"Oh," Roth said distractedly. "An old friend. Used to live here. He knew alot of people and could have attained the horses rather quickly, plus his house would have been a good place to rest." He sat on a tree stump just in front of the property. He stood up with the help of his staff, and brushed himself off. "Well, we might as well begin searching for someone willing to part with some horses. Have you any money?"

"Walk?" Linith asked, making sure he had hear Karma right. "Are you kidding? We can't walk all the way to the" pausing to whisper," Dark Lord's castle!" If anyone knew they were talking about him, then they'd surely want to know why. Returning to his normal voice, he cotinued. " Every minute he's gaining more power, and we need to get there as fast as we can! We can't waste time walking around just because you don't like horses."

"I can't believe you guys actually rely on horses." Karma muttered from up in the tree. She had her chained sycle in her hand and was throwing it out of boredom, a few poor people getting scared to death when a blade went from the tree into the air. "Wow...that got people's auras a little whiter..." She murmured, picking leaves from her sycle. She looked down to Roth. "If we go on foot we can hide, not only do we have the will power not to whinny and nay." The truth of the matter was, Karma was an earth walker, walking wherever she needed to on her feet. Also, another truth of the matter was...she hated horses to high heaven. When she was young and she and Linith still knew where each other where, she and some other children were playing with horses when Karma got to another wild horse, she got in its pen and it practically tried to kill her. "I think we should walk on foot." She muttered.

"Oh, come on. You can't be serious." Well, yeah she can, she still hasn't forgot about that horse inccident... "Well you're going to have to get over that fear. We need to get there as fast as we can." Linith said, crossing his arms and looking up at Karma with an annoyed look.

"What is this...fear you speak of?" Karma muttered, not moving form her spot in the tree. "I'm not scared of anything. I just think we should go at a slower pace, plan out what we should do from diferent points. And horses would just get in the way!" Karma was obviously lying. SHe NEVER thought ahead of what she was going to do.

Linith sighed, "You're a bad liar, Karma. Come on, you knowthat we need to get horses...but how." Looking around he noticed that they were getting funny looks, but none of them seemed very threatening.

Karma finally jumped down and glared at him. "Even if we do get horses, I'm not riding one. I don't care how blistered my feet will be afterwards, I'm not riding some wretched animal!" She said. Her hand was threatening, fingering the blade of her chained syckle. "I'd slice you in half if you weren't my brother!" (Of course Lilith ain't really her brother, she just means by like, soul means.)

Roth looked from one to the other as they argued, and quite suddenly chuckled. "You two haven't changed much, I see," he said, bemused. He scratched his beard for a moment. "Of course! Follow me, quickly!" he said as he walked away quickly. He led them to a sort of pavillion, with several large tents erected here and there. "Wait here," he told them, "I'll be back in a few minutes. And please try to stay out of trouble." With that he set off towards a plain, grey tent. He pulled back the flap and disappeared inside.

"Yeah yeah, I've heard that one before." Linith told Karma turning around. Watching Roth venture into the tents, he wondered where he was going. "Where do you suppose he's going?"

"Easy answer." Karma said. "He's making us join the traveling circus." She laughed and mussed Linith's hair. "And here is the head clown! Of course I'll be one of those fortune tellers." She said proudly yet jokingly.

Roth remerged a moment later, talking excitedly with a short, squat man with graying hair. He gestured once towards Karma and Linith. The man handed Roth a piece of parchment with writing on it, shook his hand and went back into the tent. Roth was looking quite smug when he came back over, brandishing the parchment.
